I MURDERED MY SON

I MURDERED MY SON
My name is kwesi, a well-respected medical doctor with all the good accolades you can confer on my profession. Married to a very beautiful and smart woman, Ama also a lawyer by profession.  I wouldn’t say our marriage has always been flowery, we have had our ups and downs and we enjoyed every bit of it.

God blessed us with 3 cute children, 2 boys one girl. Kwadwo is an electrical engineer, kwabena a banker and Adwoa followed my steps to hospital wards and theatres for surgery. I should be proud of myself I guess.

All  this while I thought I needed a Nobel prize for being the best father to my kids , but Adwoa proved me wrong when she shared a secret with me.

Kwabena my second child seemed like the odd one amongst my children. Kwadwo and Ama were  quite smart, kwabena too but his report cards always got us doubting.

I thought as a father, and  with such respect in society there was no way my children shouldn’t succeed. So I tried my maximum best to give them the required training.

I remember one night with my children where I screamed at kwabena for showing me a drawing. He was startled and surprised because he had never seen that side of his dad. That wasn’t the first time he was showing me a drawing though, but I was tired of seeing them.

Kwadwo and Ama were having the records in school. It made me very proud as a father. Kwabena was not winning awards but he was good.

Spoke to Ama about kwabena to watch him with extra care, thinking we were doing him the parental good. We forced books on him, gave him to various teachers to be thought and at last he brought smiles to our faces.

Kwabena had now stopped drawing, writing poems and those things he loved so much. He went through the various levels of education and with our advice ventured into administration. This field of study landed him his current job as a banker.

I never knew I had so much effect on kwabena that the least action I took on him had a long term effect on his life. He is grown now, rich from his own labour and married to a pretty nurse Akua.

Little did I know kwabena all this while hated himself for what he has become. This was seen in how he treated co-workers, his own children and sometimes his wife.

My son was a true artist, one whose work you will surely love and admire. I shattered those dreams with just a shout in a night and those memories never left kwabena. He now lives a life full of vinegar, bitter to taste. Never happy and satisfied with his achievement at work because he never had the courage to put himself out there.

I saw kwabena reject a lot of leadership roles in life even up until now because his confidence level still remains 0.

Yes kwabena is alive but to him he died at age 6, and I blame myself for his murder. I knew I wanted my kids to succeed ,I knew I had to provide for them but I never meant to murder kwabena.

My excuse has always been the scripture Proverbs 22:6 show the child the way he should go and he/she will not depart from it.

I guess I misunderstood “the” for “my”. And just that level of misunderstanding saw me burry my kwabena at age 6.

Am sorry son please find it in your heart to forgive me.

Let this squabble end with just us. The children have their own lives to lives. Again it’s the way, not a way, or my way, or your way.

The article THE is a definite one, meaning very specific, so only help them locate THE way and you won’t have to write this long essays like am doing.

Parents and potential parents, the influence we have on our children is GOD given, we can either use if for good or otherwise. It will be in our own interest to know that we will surely account for the lives of our children.

Mind you, they are gifts from GOD and GOD does not give irrelevant gifts. Gifts are always for equipping just as how Ephesians 4:11-16 puts it.  Once again let’s help them locate THE way.

 Thank you and stay blessed.

                                                                                                                                         DAD

IN LOVE WITH A 90 YEARS OLD LADY

IN LOVE WITH A 90 YEARS OLD LADY

It was another great time in the presence of the LORD reading the book of genesis the chapter 18.The chapter describes angels on assignment in Sodom and Gomorrah who  were entertained as visitors by grandpa Abraham and his life time companion Sarah.

Abraham pleaded to do good to these strange men. He invited them into his tent, and served them with water to wash their feet, a place to rest and some food to eat. Afterward the angels asked of his wife Sarah and spoke a word concerning her that, a year by this time she would be a mother to a son, a statement she found very funny and laughed.

Grandma Sarah had hit her 89th year mark and had given up on child birth probably one of the reasons why she laughed at the statement.

Gen 18:12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying ;after I am waxed old shall I have pleasure , my lord being old also ?”

Grandma Sarah made it quite clear in this verse that she was old. Stating that she had waxed old. The Hebrew word for wax used here is balah meaning to decay or to wear out. She caps her assertion by adding the fact that she had even lost her libido. From what she  saw with herself, I think we can’t blame her for laughing, but what Grandma had forgotten was a word GOD had spoken over her in the chapter 17.

Gen 17:15 God said to Abraham, “As for your wife Sarai, do not call her Sarai, for Sarah will be her name.
Gen 17:16 I will bless her; indeed, I will give you a son by her. I will bless her, and she will produce nations; kings of peoples will come from her.”

This was the word GOD had spoken over Sarah that; she will produce or be a mother to nations. We all know that medically speaking a 90 year old woman has lost her fertility and can’t conceive.

The truth about the matter here is that; because of this word released over her life by GOD Sarah was going to remain young, that is young enough to be able to give birth. So yes her body had waxed old in her sight but in true reality she was still a damsel who was capable of giving birth and suckling to the young.

How do I know this?

In chapter 20, bible says Abraham traveled with his family to the region of Negev and settled between Kadesh and shur. We know from Esther’s story that the most beautiful among the beautiful were brought to the king as wives or queens.

So, for king Abimelech to had gone in for Sarah upon their arrival in the region of Negev only suggest that Sarah wasn’t an old waxed lady who had lost her libido as she thought she was, because had that been the case she wouldn’t have caught the eyes of the king to be taken as a concubine.

Also in king David’s old age and on his sick bed, it was a damsel that was brought to him to check whether he was still strong enough not an old lady, because no matter how old a king is, he is still entitled to the prettiest  lady in his kingdom if his souls desires it.

Where am I going with this? The word of GOD released upon Sarah had so much transformed her  she couldn’t even take notice of it herself, but GOD had made her so even in the eyes of men. The power in the spoken word of GOD over her life had kept her  in her flamboyant age, young enough to give birth to Isaac and fulfill the prophesy of being a mother to nations.

Now, the big question? What has GOD said concerning your life, and how do you see that word in your life? I leave you to answer it yourself.   The power in HIS spoken word over your life will always keep you and surely bring it to fulfillment.

Thank you.

THE UNHEARD INSTRUCTIONS

THE UNHEARD INSTRUCTIONS.

Today I decided to visit Noah in the book of Genesis 6. The chapter basically talks about corruption creeping unto the earth and GOD’S strategic plan to eliminate such activities from the earth. Bible says when mankind increased in number daughters were born unto them and the sons of GOD saw them to be beautiful and took any they chose as wives for themselves. Note that one group of people were referred to as sons of men/mankind and another as sons of GOD. These were fallen angels having lustful desires for the daughters of men because they had come or entered into the realm of man.

Bible says the LORD was grieved and said that HIS spirit will not dwell with man again, because man’s heart was continually corrupt. The word continually here can also suggest that GOD might have given man enough time to repent of his corrupt ways but man never understood the language of change and remained in corruption.

So here was Grandpa Noah, who had found favour in the sight of GOD. For this reason GOD drew near and had a discussion with HIM pertaining to the corrupt nature of man. HE revealed HIS final verdict of destruction unto Noah and gave him the escape plan.

From verse 14, the LORD issues out HIS plan in detail to Noah, and how he was to go about it.
Where am I going with this narrative,  crises were knocking on man’s door, and the only thing that saved Noah and HIS family was the fact that HE had found favour in the sight of GOD. That is to say GOD had chosen to treat him differently from all his contemporary. (This is where we find ourselves as Christians because we are a called out people, chosen among many).

Again for this same reason GOD reveals HIS thoughts to Noah and decides to save him and his family from the impending destruction, by giving him instructions to be carried out immediately. As a favoured group of people (Christians) GOD reveals the impending dangers in life to us and issues out the escape plan for us.  The big question here is do we hear these instructions and if we do how do we go about it. Because from Noah’s story GOD gave a vivid or detailed plan to be carried out, meaning HE did not give room for confusion or misunderstanding; an excuse we can find for falling into destruction.

To eliminate corruption the solution was destruction, but GOD provided for HIS people amidst this destruction.

Don’t blame it on the silence of GOD, in hard times HE always looks out for HIS people. Like the sheep knowing the voice of their master, get to know HIS voice when HE instructs and like Noah you will be floating on the flood instead of being devoured by the flood.

Thank you.

THE ONE ARMY SYSTEM

THE ONE ARMY SYSTEM

When GOD needed to save billions of people HE did not bring an equal billions of  people but just a one man army, who happens to be our CHRIST. The ratio is 1:1,000,000,000. I mean, this is practically insane.

In Egypt when HE wanted to save HIS people, again HE went for a one man army in the person of Moses, and with him HE snatched HIS people from the pharaohs. This issue about one man army became more evident to me in the book of Esther where GOD uses a lady to once again save HIS people.

This is the amazing thing. Esther with her uncle who also doubled as her fathers after the demise of her parents were all brought into the province of king Ahasuerus as slaves from war. For one funny reasons the king decides to destool his queen and search for a new one.

Ladies were assembled to battle themselves for the royal crown as queen to the king. Some way somehow the king sees Esther and he begin to walk according to the dictates of GOD, in that GOD needed the situation to save the Jewish community. He madly falls in love with the Jewish slave and makes her a queen in a bit.

From the Jewish community all GOD needed was a lady not evens a man. Esther goes into the palace and the ripple effect begins to unfold. Now Mordechai unknowingly becomes a CID or better still an FBI agent to the king where he leaked an important missile of a message to annul the plans of the enemy towards the king. This act of kindness also lifted Mordechai from being a common slave now also to a royal. Putting aside the impact they brought to the Jewish community as a whole , let’s look at the impact it brought to their family.

All the family needed was for one person not two to be lifted up in social horizons and the ripple effect will bubble down to raise more.  This goes a long way to tell us that in a family you need just one not two people to be well placed, and this person or individual will set the ball rolling for others. Unless the lifting up of the individual is void of GOD, if not know and understand that GOD has also arrived to set up your family.

As Christians lets practice the habit of helping each other, praying for each other and holding each other in place. After all with are a body to a head.

When a brother  or sister starts doing exploits in church, at work, in the home, etc, hatred shouldn’t be your breakfast rather learn to diet on support because the ripple effect just started and your Mordechai elements will surely be met.

The one man army system of GOD has always being a secret strategy, and like in wars communication is in codes. You only get to understand this code when you are part of us, most Christians have side-lined themselves forgetting we serve and work for one GOD therefore making them novices to the good codes of GOD.

The ripple effect always begins from somewhere, just join the right army and wait on your turn.

Thank you.

JESUS MY BALLON DOR

JESUS MY BALLON D’OR

I sat behind the television waiting patiently for the blast of the whistle to begin the world cup games. Thoughts of who is winning ,who is getting out at the group stages, the golden ball and golden boot winners created a special euphoria around me.

Then an interesting question popped up in my mind. The various teams have their special talisman who they believe can rescue them in times of trouble. The Brazilians have Neymar, the argentines can count on Messi, Egyptians now choruses the name Mo Salah, and the like.
So I asked “who is my talisman”?

I couldn’t think of anyone better than my Captain JESUSCHRIST. He is more of utility players who fit well in any position you choose to play him.

As a goal keeper, he is my saviour (Matthew 18:11). He is ready to save me any day, and at any time and at any place from the hands of the wicked one. HE came all the way from heaven just to save me from the sharp teeth of death through sin.

As a defender HE forms a formidable hedge around me (job 1:10). Defending me against false accusations, and the fiery dart of the evil one.

As a midfielder, HE was, is and will always be the only way to the FATHER (john 14:6), the link between my humanity and HIS divinity.

As the striker HE promises to never fail me and also to take me to an expected end (Jeremiah 29:11), winning me the trophies of salvation and prosperity in the LORD.
#JESUSMYTALISMAN.
