A gift on my dream date

As usual it was my birthday, and I had switched on my ecstasy button, was so glad because the night before He had promised me a gift and I was really looking forward to it.

I returned from lectures filled with happiness because for once I had good enough reason to shun academic activities for the rest of the day.

I went to the bathroom, took a cold shower, ironed my velvet body-con dress, picked up my heels and headed to the car park where his Hyundai santa fe was packed. We drove through the streets of Accra, chatting and admiring some cool buildings in the city

I liked how we started our celebrations because it was just how I had seen and imagined it in my dreams. We made a stop at a hawker selling coconut, where we bought ourselves some coconuts to enjoy.

Friends started calling and asking me about how my day was going and I couldn’t help but tell them how my dreams were becoming a reality. 

I received a warm gaze from him at the coconut stand , and all I could think of was running into his arms and speaking softly into his ears the words” thank you” after giving him a kiss on the lips, but that would make me a silly  girl.

We continued our tour through the streets of the capital, and oh my GOD he was so funny. I laughed my head off and needed to borrow a rib in case I broke the ones I already had.

I said in my head that, this day is going down in my books as the best birthday ever. Finally we drove to a well-known and in my opinion, the best hotel in the country; where we had a reservation for just the two of us. 

Only GOD knows what was on my mind at that particular time. The waitress brought the menu and we settled with some delicious dishes. After the meal, the next event was the gift presentation. He asked me , aren’t t you curious about the gift I want to give you? And all of a sudden I became nervous.

If this guy dares proposes to me , there is no way I was going to say no or am going to think about it because the answer would be a really quick yes ,I quickly told myself.

Close your eyes he said, and I obeyed like a lamb.

Open your eyes again he said, and as soon as I heard him, I literally hopped from my seat.

   On the table was a small coffin of about 4cm in length and 5cm in height. Why the hell would you do that? I asked. Sit was his response. Within a twinkle of an eye he had ruined my romantic dream date for me.

He said, I really admire you, had that not been the case, I wouldn’t have given you this for a present. He said, this gift is to remind you that , you are a step closer to your earthly self-contained house( coffin) , but the question to answer is, would you be this happy in this house as you were earlier today?  Now the romantic ph-meter started dropping until it reached equilibrium.

The life of mankind on earth has a common point and resting place, that is death and the grave.

 Would you sleep peacefully in the grave or you will sit in the grave crying anytime you look at your unaccomplished life on earth.

Would you prefer to cry because, second chance is an impossibility?

It’s actually wonderful to be celebrated, enjoy birthdays when they come, it’s a blessing, but then again know that you are a step closer to the grave.

Time and tide they say waits for no man, know your purpose on earth, work to fulfill your purpose, enjoy and live a fulfilled life even in death after you have lived out your days on earth.

THE EYES OF THE BEHOLDER

What is beauty? According to the Merriam Webster dictionary beauty is the qualities in a person or a thing that gives pleasure to the senses or the mind. How interesting.

Walking through the book of genesis I came across Adam who was wowed by one of the greatest creation of GOD.

Let’s begin from Genesis 1:26-27, “And GOD said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 , So GOD created man in HIS own image; HE created him in the image of GOD;HE created them male and female.”

Take a look at the play of pronouns here and note it very well. Referring to the same creature yet uses a singular pronoun and a plural one simultaneously. The pronoun them is further splitted into male and female in verse 27.

A better understanding of these verses is seen in Genesis 2:21-22, “So the LORD GOD caused a deep sleep to come over the man, and he slept. GOD took one of his ribs and closed the flesh at that place. Then the LORD GOD made the rib HE had taken from man into a woman and brought her to the man”. This confirms the them we saw in chapter one.

Now let’s continue, before the creation of woman in Gen 2:21-22, the idea or promise to get man a helper was first mentioned in verse 18. Since it was the era for creation was expecting the creation of woman to follow suit right after the idea came about, but interestingly HE gives man another job to do, that is to call the names of the wild animals and birds HE (GOD) had created to keep Adam busy and working.

When it was finally time to create woman the hidden beauty and glory of man; then again GOD causes Adam to fall into deep sleep, where he performs the first ever operation, because bible says GOD took the ribs and closed again the flesh at that place.

GOD could have performed this operation without man sleeping but HE chose to cause him to sleep. I don’t know how many of us have undergone surgery before, but if you have, you know and understand the pains involved before, during and after the surgery.

Moving on, Gen 2:23, And the man said; this one, at last, is bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh; this one will be called woman, for she was taken from man.

 An absent Adam during the creation of woman rises up from deep sleep, wowed by what he sees which causes him to profess the processes used in creating woman.

POINTS TO NOTE

1.       In Gen 1:27 the bible testifies of the presence of woman in man. The pronoun (THEM) used. Glory hidden in man. 1cor 11:7

2.       In Gen 2:18-19, GOD kept Adam busy with him by tasking him to name the wild animals and birds.

3.       In Gen 2:21 GOD causes Adam to sleep deeply in order to bring out a hidden beauty (woman).

All am trying to say with these analogy is that, there is always a hidden beauty (glory) in man , and the best person to bring this out is GOD.  Note the processes used.

a.       The idea to bring forth such beauty is  conceived

b.      GOD then gets you busy with HIM through work

c.       HE then puts you to deep sleep where you are free from pain, all distraction, and any other thing except GOD.

d.      Then finally when HE is done with your miracle you wake up professing the testimonies.

There are a bunch of prophesies spoken over your life ,a whole lot of wonderful things that will make your life beautiful. Learn to be patient and wait on GOD and you will rise from the deep sleep like Adam to profess the process of your beauty as a testimony unto others.

Beauty created by GOD is not subjective to lie on the face of the beholder, but very objective

HEART ECONOMY

                                                      HEART ECONOMY

Economics in simple terms is stability. Today our mortuary houses a lot of individuals because their hearts failed to regulate the inflow and outflow of blood from the heart technically known as the blood pressure.

Psychiatric hospitals are no different from these heart issues. Males and females alike with promising futures end up in cages for fear misbehaving in public.

Well this is not a medical class so we ll leave that to the doctors and medical practitioners.

Scripture in “Proverbs 4: 23 says, Keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it cometh the issues of life. Delving deeper into the text the word keep here in the Hebrew is nastar, which means to guard, in a good sense (protect, maintain, and obey).

A guard protects life by regulation, that is to say he/she permits and desist people from seeing his/her master in order to protect the life of his/her master.

These practices by the security guard are geared towards stability with reference to the life of his/her master.

The bible clearly instructs us in this verse to do same to our hearts. As guards we are responsible for whatever and whoever enters our heart. Be it anger, love, hatred, bitterness, boys, girls, money, and anything at all our mind can conceive.

Create stability in your life by taking hold of the locks to your heart. Open up to who and what will make the heart glad. Purposely close your heart to anything that will destroy it.

You may ask how can this be done?

The blueprint to living a peaceful life has being embedded in our hearts according to Hebrews 10:16. Just like how an ATM machine works, Put an invalid card in the slot and the machine will spit it out. This is because per its operations such cards have no place there.

Therefore anything that tries to enter your heart without conforming to the blueprint as stated in Heb 10:16, needs to be shown the exit door.

Know how to guard, secure and protect your heart and you are assured of good, spiritual and physical health.

No guy or lady has the right to enter your heart, even GOD asks for permission to do so. You are in charge of your life on earth, but it will be wise on your side to invite GOD to pick up that role for you.

HIS CLOTHING LINE

                                            HIS CLOTHING LINE

I learnt from primary school that, your dressing portrays or defines your behaviour. Today I find it a little debatable, because looks can be deceiving these days.

It’s quite amazing how we stand in front of mirrors to check out how our dresses look on us, some of us even go the extra mile to seek 2^nd opinions on how we look in our dresses before we step outside.

I don’t know how many of us have seen a lady walk in high heels, but if you have, you realise she walks differently in her high heels than she would walk in normal flat shoes. That is the extent to which our dressing can affect our lives.

Today I came across a scripture in Galatians 3:27,which says “ for as many of you as have been baptized into CHRIST have put on CHRIST”.  So I asked myself, how would I look in the mirror when I put on JESUS CHRIST?

Then the scripture in 2cor 3:18 came to mind which says ”but we all with open faces beholding as in a glass the glory of the LORD ,are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the spirit of the LORD.”

I can deduce from the two scriptures above that as Christian we have our clothing line, and that is the “GLORY CLOTHING”.

Moses in the Old Testament had a feel of this clothing line. The bible records that men couldn’t look at him because of the glory he was wearing when he returned from mountain Sinai with the ten commandments

The prophet Ezekiel did his best in the book of Ezekiel chapter one to describe it ,but notice that in his description he mostly used the word ‘’like or likeness’’ and “as’”, meaning he couldn’t really tell what it was.

The glory of GOD and its effect is better left unexplainable, because no amount of words can best describe it, and just enjoy it if you have it.

Someone may ask how do I get this clothing ? and your answer is right in the first scripture. Get yourself baptized after hearing and  believing in the word of GOD. It is that simple.

Beloved, If you put on JESUS, you have put on the glory of GOD and therefore men cannot describe or fathom what you have become.

Your life after putting on CHRIST will never be the same, just like a lady in high heels , you ll surely walk differently.

I WANT TO PRANK GOD

I WANT TO PRANK GOD.

I want to stand in the middle of the city and scream there is no GOD, I want to prove to men that the GOD they hail and claim to serve is just a false GOD because I cried out to him when my mother was lying on her sick bed at the point of death, and all I kept hearing was GOD is in control. I bet HE was since my mother finally died.

I want to drink alcohol and womanize all I want on earth and enjoy life. My worse feared enemy then, would be STDs, but who cares about STDs when there is protection.

I just want to add a few zeros to that cheque and later slip the money into my account after all its just once and won’t do it again.

I want to dress like that holy church girl to please the pastor. I actually want to live like a Christian so she knows I also know GOD and later show her how things are done in my world.

I will give that fat offerings in church and do the work of a philanthropist to cover up for my evil deeds and ways of making money.

I am the pastor and the one to be catered for. I ll take  all the tithe and offerings and later say some words of prayer for the poor ones in the church and also tell them to trust and hope in GOD. You are the shepherd and not the sheep.

You dare stand to accuse the existence of GOD after contracting the fetish priest to use your mother for money rituals.

You think condoms and contraceptives gives you a license to mess around, I think you should talk to persons with these STDs, I believe you can learn a thing or two.

A journey of a 1000miles only begins with a step, you might end up being the best bank robber after your first bank robbery.

Young woman wearing good clothes is for your good and never to please your pastor, you only save yourself from men lusting after you which can even result in rape; and young man becoming a church goer to woo a lady is like an advance payment on your doom - you become the devil's number one target because there is a possibility of you receiving your salvation since you are in church, and this makes you number one on the devil’s hit list.

Rich man and Mr. Philanthropist; men may only see with their eyes but GOD sees all that is hidden. Kindly stop the corruption and the act of cheating because GOD sees all you do.

The master shepherd said HE came to serve and not to be served. HE said to Peter, "feed my sheep." GOD will cause people to bless you so stop being greedy and treating ministry like your ventures.

These little things we do and think about are never hidden from GOD. I call them “pranks”. 

GOD is not and can never be pranked. "God is not mocked..." JESUS is indeed coming back for HIS own. Stay true to HIS given word and you will never regret it.

 I choose not to prank GOD but to give HIM my all and I advise you to do same.

THE BLIND DRIVER

                                                            THE BLIND DRIVER

I sat with my boss in the office as she lectured me on being careful in life. She told me a real life experience she once had as a student, and I could only bless GOD for her life. She schooled in the northern part of Ghana in the University of Development Studies.

On one of her numerous trips to school she took a night bus which developed an electrical fault and caused the lighting system of the bus to totally go off; the head lights and all other lights on the bus just went off. Surprisingly, the engine was still running and the bus could still move.

The road to the north is such that you could drive for hours without seeing villages, towns, or cities. Look through your wind screen or window and the only thing you’d see was thick forests or wide plains, staring back at you.

So there they were in the middle of the road left to nothing but their fate. You would ask; why didn’t they call for help with their mobile phones. Yes, I also asked same, and she said there were places along the road where mobile network was just not accessible, and this was one of such places.

“What did you do then?” Was my next question. She then spoke about the blind driver.

The driver had no choice but to drive the people to a safer place where they could call for help. His only source of light then was that of on-coming cars. Without an on-coming car, the driver was totally blind behind the steer and could only rely on the experience of his frequent use of the road. The Light from on –coming cars additionally gave him an idea of where he was and what to do next.

This blind driver drove on slowly and slowly with his imagination of the road through the thick forests and plains until they reached a nearby village where they could call for help. At that point, I happily slapped my hands together clapping for the blind driver, because of a job well done.

Where am I going with this?

 At points in our lives, just like the bus; our lights go off. There are times we see that things are not going as they should. We bear witness to ourselves that we are putting in all the effort needed but things are just not working.  we cross check sometimes to see where we went wrong, only to realise that we are actually at our best, yet we are just not moving.

 Let me tell you this, if this is your situation; cast your mind back to the broad day light of your life where you leaped over stones, where you knew how to cross roads without getting knocked down by a car, cast your mind back to how you always trusted GOD to take you through all the mishaps you’ve faced in life.

 Now, relax and give a deep thought to these things, what you are facing now is no different from what you have been through earlier in life, yes it seems like GOD is silent on this particular issue, it is true; this is because HE is quietly and slowly driving you to a much safer place where HE can actually bring helpers to your aid.

Trusts in the LORD, believe HIS word for your life and you will forever love HIM.

A SHIP AT THE HABOUR

A ship at the harbour

So it happens that the famous logos hope ship(a ship full of Christian and other literature)
 found herself on the shores of Ghana again, giving Ghanaians an opportunity to benefit from her good work. I was so privileged and graced to have been among the few Ghanaians who witnessed this historic event.

It was quite interesting how people were happily jumping around, taking selfies, and all that.  I just stood at a place with the ship in sight thinking through how this dream became a reality for someone. Also as a young engineer I was thinking about the loads of work involved in fulfilling such a dream.  A friend came closer and looking at how amazed I was he said to me, there are bigger ones than this and I nodded at him affirming his point.

Again, I laughed and gave a faint smile after realizing that this huge vessel is controlled by an individual called captain, who happens to be a man. It was just funny to accept the fact  that this huge vessel which is 1000 times bigger than man is being controlled by tiny man.

 

This took me back to the book of genesis where GOD instructed man to take dominion of everything HE created. Gen 1:26 ( And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth).

The level and kind of dominion GOD bestowed on us as mankind was and still is one of a kind. If   tiny little men called captains can control vessels as huge as the size of logos hope, then men are yet to discover the extent to which their dominion ends.

No wonder with faith like mustard seed we would move mountains.

What am I trying to say? 

Your issue maybe as big as the logos hope ship or better still like the famous titanic ship, the size of the ship is not the problem but the captain to champion its course. Until the captain puts on the engine to set sail for people to admire the ship, its magnificence is only known  to itself.

 Command your day, exhibit your dominance as man, there is nothing bigger than you, it doesn’t matter the size of the ship , as a captain if you stop the engine the ship will quietly obey, if you start it again it will gladly respond to your will. 

Think about this and praise GOD for your life.
