The book of mark 5 from verse 25-34 gives an account of a
woman whose illness was so persistent that it graduated into an issue. Today let’s
talk about a unique feature of our dear lady and learn. The bible says she came
from behind in the crowd and touched HIS (JESUS) robe.
The question is why didn’t she come facing CHRIST, because
in that way she would get HIS attention and her petition would have been well
addressed, instead she came from behind where CHRIST would not even notice her,
but guess what? HE did after her touch.
Let’s note that this woman had an issue of blood and was in
her 12th year of such a case, there is a high possibility that she
was even bleeding as at the time she was amongst the crowd because the bible
says “instantly her flow of blood ceased” which explains that there was a flow
even among the crowd.
What am I saying? A lady in her menstrual period deems it a
high level of disgrace and shame should she stain herself in public with blood
during her period, this presupposes that our dear sister had the tendency to be
shameful because of her situation which transcends a menstrual period. Any lady in this conditions would find a
place devoid of people and get herself cleaned up which is the normal.
Instead this lady pushes through a mass of people amidst her
unclean, shameful, and shy, nature and touches HIS robe. Maybe, just maybe, that is why she approached
HIM from behind.
Beloved whether she approached HIM from behind or from in
front there was an element of NOTICE, because JESUS asked who has
touched me.
In verse 33, the bible says she came with fear and trembling,
when CHRIST posed the question and she confessed the truth meaning she was
still afraid, yet she responded and answered.
All these earlier attributes of fear, shame and disgrace did
not discourage our dear sister from getting her healing; neither did it dampen
her spirit not to apply her faith into healing.
It is true we fall as Christians and get afraid of the father
because of what we think of ourselves. The fornication, drinking, deviant acts
and stuffs makes us shameful and
undeserving to face GOD but that does not stop us from touching HIS heart. Our
sister touched the robe for her healing it’s your turn, in your current state
which part of HIM would you want to touch and for what, again what is your
excuse for not pushing through the crowd.
The key point here is getting HIM to notice you. If you get
HIM to notice you HE will get you to openly confess and set you free.
Mind you, you have no excuse.
